Detailed
Description
In a stunningly beautiful handwriting and eloquent text, a women writes her husband, Abraham, of her love for him and her son. Apparently gravely ill, the wife, Sara, travelled to Marienbad for spa treatments and medical cure. She describes the surroundings in a fluent, rich, eloquent Hebrew and express her hope to return home healthy. Marienbad is a spa town in the Carlsbad Region of the Czech Republic. The town, surrounded by green mountains, is an exquisite mosaic of parks and noble houses. Most of its buildings come from the town's Golden Era in the second half of the 19th century, when many celebrities and top European rulers came to enjoy the curative carbon dioxide springs. Sara describes the natural settings, the sunrise and sunset over the mountains, the air - a description that leaves the reader wanting to be there!
