Description
   Addressed to R. Pollak in Budapest, R. Gordon is seeking to prevent a young lady, in Budapest, from becoming an Agunah by securing a divorce from the husband in New York. The husband is prepared to travel to the South, where writes R. Gordon "he will be lost to the wife and nation of Israel."

R. Aaron b. Meir Gordon (1845-1922) was born in Miadziol, Vilna Province. He was an erudite scholar, known as the "Miadziol illu", he immigrated to America where he settled and conducted a Bet Din on the Lower East Side of Manhattan. Several of his works have been published.
