Detailed
Description
Illustrated Jewish children’s journal under the direction of Siegmund Springer, Chairman of the Jewish National Teacher’s Association in Boehmen (Obmann des israelitischen Landes-Lehrervereines in Böhmen). Jung Juda, founded in1899/1900 by Filipp Lebenhart, was a Czech German-language fortnightly that survived until late in the 1930s. It was the first Zionist German journal for youth. This is volume XIV, consisting of twenty-three issues published from January 3, 1913 (24 Tevet 5673) through December 5, 1913 (6 Kislev 5674). The issues are bound together with a volume title page and comprehensive table of contents. The articles in Jung Juda consist of poems, biographies, instructional essays, letters, pearls from the Talmud, sayings, riddles, pictorial riddles, translations, and a conversational corner (Jung Judas Plauderecke). The text is in a single column in Fraktur. There are illustrations, drawings, and photographs as well as other decorative material.
