Description		    An announcement signed by over 50 Rabbis regarding a ruling by the Agudat HaRabbanim that it is forbidden to given a Hekhsher (kosher certification) to a processing plant for smoked meats that is owned by owners of a processing plant for non-kosher meats. The Rabbis assert that this ruling should be strictly observed for reasons that include 1) putting an extra fence to separate from the possibility of something kosher being made non-kosher and 2) to avoid any issue that a kosher certificate could be duplicated. The ruling also extends to all sorts of extended ownership, including partnerships, corporations, etc. It concludes with a warning that this is a serious matter and that no Beit Din or Kashruth Committee should take it lightly.
