Responsa from R. Bezalel ben Joseph Yuzel. The title page is dated with the verse, “See, I have called by name Bezalel” (Exodus 31:2). The title page describes the book as the responsa of the sage R. R. Bezalel ben Joseph Yuzel, grandson of R. Samuel Gals and further describing his genealogy. There is an introduction from the author followed eleven riddles, supplied to fill blank space between the introduction and responsa, the riddles related to the responsa. Each riddle is immediately followed by its explanation. An example of the riddles are 3) a person violates Shabbat with a warning and is obligated for a sin offering; 6) meat of a clean animal is intermingled with the fat of a clean animal is permitted if cooked and to benefit; 10) and nullifying that which is forbidden twenty-nine times alone. The responsa follow in two columns in rabbinic type. While the she’elot are brief the teshuvah are detailed, divided into many numbered paragraphs, for example, the first she’elah (2a-10a) is to explain the subject of a prohibited item that has a matir (to make it permissible) that even in a thousand is not nullified.
