Description
Financial letter signed by R. Abraham B. Mordecai Rubio, Hebron's emissary in Leghorn. R. Abraham was born in Hebron and appears on Hebron documents from 1763 onward. He is among the signatories of the Shedar letter issued to the Hida. In 1793 he published the responsa of his father, R. Mordecai Haham of Hebron, Shemen ha-Mor ("Oil of the Myrrh"), in Leghorn. The Hida entrusted him with 20 copies of his work Pnei David to distribute in Hebron. The second signatory of the document is R. Mikael ha-Kohen, Hebron's emissary in Rhodes (1771). His Shedar letter bears the signature of the Hida. His signature appear on many documents through the end of the 18th century.
