| A poster put out by the political party Histadrut HaPoel HaMizrahi/Histadrut HaMizrahi for its Jerusalem action committeeto encourage people to vote for their party. Note that quite a few words must have been printed incorrectly, as they have been taped over with the correct words.
It begins by saying that the problems causing loss of honor to Jerusalem, etc have been caused by the representatives of the "general Zionists". "At least half of its members have caused, in an ongoing manner, serious obstacles to the workings of the administration of the city". "Because of personal ambitions..they have caused crises without stop …"
The chief speaker of this movement, Mr. A. Elisar…warred against the establishment of religious schools in poor suburbs…he resigned and was not allowed to rescind his resignation…were the schools allowed to be built.
Four months before the elections for the city council…the general Zionists, and at their head Mr. Elisar, caused a crisis that profaned the honor of the capital city….
Religious Jews of Jerusalem should know how to appreciate the works of the mayor and the religious representatives on the city council, who in spite of the frenzy that was created on the council, the difficulty of the objectives of Jerusalem, they reduced the fiscal deficit …payed the debts, improved the lighting, added roadways and doubled the educational services in the city.
HaPoel HaMizrahi and the Mizrahi in Jerusalem hope that the committee that will be appointed by the government to administer the municipal economy will serve only in the transition period and at the next election for the city council, the honor and rule will return to Jerusalem.
