Title: Jüdisches Athenäum: Gallerie berühmter Männer jüdischer Abstammung und jüdischen Glaubens, von der letzten Hälfte des achtzehnten bis zum Schluss der ersten Hälfte des neunzehnten Jahrhunderts.
This volume contains biographies of famous Jews, as the subtitle states (in translation): Gallery of famous men of Jewish descent and Jewish faith, of the last half of the eighteenth century up to the conclusion of the first half of the nineteenth century. Those written about include: Heinrich Heine, Jacques Fromental Halevy, Heinrich Simon and many others. The text is in German, and the table of contents (vii-viii) is in alphabetical order.
