The author of this utopian novel is also the author of Stuttgart und Cannstatt (Stuttgart, 1914) and 20 [i.e. zwanzig] Tage durch Chicago und die Weltausstellung 1893 (Stuttgart, 1893). Inserted into the front cover of the book is a printed copy of the title page along with the comments"Two Jewish Utopias published previous to "Altneuland". Herzl writes to Max Osterberg: Certain things that were dangling before your eyes, we (the Zionist movement) contemplate realizing by sober political work."
