A series of six lectures on Judaism and the environment by R. Elie Munk (1900-1981). R. Munk was district rabbi of Ansbach (Bavaria) from 1926, and from 1937 was rabbi of the Communauté Israélite de la Stricte Observance in Paris. His published works include: Die Welt der Gebete (2 vols. (1938); Eng., The World of Prayer, 2 vols., 1954–63), a commentary on the siddur; Das Licht der Ewigkeit (1935); La justice sociale en Israel (1947); Rachel (on the duties of Jewish women; 1951); and a translation into French of Rashi's Pentateuch commentary (1957).
The titles of the lectures are: Das jüdische Bildungsideal (The Jewish education ideal); Judentum, Sozialismus und Nationalismus (Judaism, socialism and nationalism); Glauben und Wissen in der Gegenwart (faith and knowledge in the present); Gesellschaftliche Formen und Konflikte (social ones forms and conflicts); Die Bedeutung der Mizwoth (the meaning of the Mitzvot); Probleme der jüdischen Jugenderziehung (problems of the Jewish youth education).
