Description
Receipt for donation by the Rabbi Jacob Joseph School on the Lower East Side on New York. The yeshiva was founded as the Bes Sefer Yeshiva (1900) by R. Jacob Joseph, Chief Rabbi of New York, and was renamed the Rabbi Jacob Joseph Yeshiva upon his death. RJJ was the first yeshiva for children in the United States. It trained thousands of children on the Lower East Side until it moved in 1975 to Staten Island and Edison, NJ.
