Description		    Only edition of these halakhic novellae and discourses by R. R. Nissan Palombo (c. 1797-1841) rabbi in Constantinople. The title is from, “a cedar in Lebanon with attractive branches (yaffe anaf)” (Ezekiel 31:3). The title page has a decorative frame, and begins its lengthy text as Happy is the one who come here with his learning in his hand, on the Torah and on the Avodah, night and day, with darkness and with light. I informs that R. Palombo was a descendant of R. R. Palombo, author of Yad ha-Melekh. It praises R. Elijah Palombo who brought the book to press. It is dated, “That I may see לראות (637 = 1877) the good of your chosen” (Psalms 106:5). Yaffe Anaf has an approbation from R. Meir Yaish of Constantinople. There is an introduction form the author’s son, R. Elijah Raphael Palombo, each of its seven paragraphs beginning with the word ben. The text is in two columns in rabbinic type, excepting headers and initial words. The first part of Yaffe Anaf are halakhic novellae on Shulhan Arukh arranged alphabetically. The second part is comprised of ten discourses followed by likkutim on the weekly parasha and responsa from R. Solomon Uziel and R. Rafael Biataron.
