Detailed
Description
   R. Jeremiah b. Benjamin Wolf Loew (1811-1874) rabbi of SatoraljaUjhely, Hungary. R. Loew was born in Kolin and educated in prominent Hungarian Yeshivot. He assumed the Ujhely mantle (1852-1874) from the illustrious R. Moses Teitelbaum who served from 1809-1841 followed by son R. Jekutiel Judah Teitelbaum 1841-1847.

R. Jeremiah took part in the Hungarian General Jewish Congress of 1868–69. He endeavored to prevent a split within the community after the schism within Hungarian Jewry that followed the congress. R. Loew was an erudite scholar and wrote Divrei Jeremiah (all published posthumously) novellae to the Rambam, a volume of homiletics, and Talmudic novellae. He also wrote Anshei haShem (Satu Mare 1933) on history and the Talmudic period.
