The Reichvertretung der Juden in Deutschland (Reich representation of the Jews in Germany) was a framework agency of Jewish organizations in Germany. It was founded in September, 1933 to protect the interests of Jews in Germany. Its first president was R.Leo Baeck. Some groups of orthodox Jews, the members of the federation of national German Jews as well as a group of fragments of zionistr revisionists did not follow this federation. Nevertheless the Reichvertretung covered nearly all important Jewish organizations as well as all larger Kultusgemeinden. Among the substantial tasks it strove to work on were co-operation, Jewish self-help and the Jewish emigration. This organization was replaced in 1935 by the Reichsvereinigung der Juden which was to further the emigration of the Jews.
