Description		    Comprehensive illustrated work on all the laws pertaining to ritual slaughter by R. Me'ir Elijah ben Judah Jacob Vainer. The text is an instructive work encompassing all facets of shehita according to the Torah from the removing the animal form the pen througfh the processing of the meat. The text is supplemented by pictures and photographs that give exact and precise details of those portions requiring nikkor (deveining), the forbidden fats, gid ha-nashah (sciatic nerve) that must be removed. Also included are diagrams of the internal organs that must be examined to ensure that the animal is not treif. The author, R. Vainer, served as rav in Kovna. The text is in Hebrew with Yiddish translation below it. It follows the kosher meat process described on the title page. The text is foloowed by notes and addenda, list of the limbs of the animal, and then the illustrations. The depictions of an entire cow and then the various parts have letters superimposed on the illustrations with explanations below of the designated parts.
