Dr. Aaron Ackermann has written a work on Biblical hermeneutics, the branch of theology that deals with principles of exegesis. He has chapters on the Talmud and Midrash, Saadia Gaon, Rashi and his school, Abraham ibn Ezra, etc. The text is in German with frequent use of Hebrew words and phrases.

Dr. Ackermann is the author of many other books, including: Zur lehr' und zur wehr, über und gegen die kirchliche orgel im jüdischen gottesdienste (Berlin, 1904), Geschichte der Juden in Brandenburg a.H. (Berlin, 1906), Münzmeister Lippold. Ein beitrag zur kultur- und sittengeschichte des mittelalters (Frankfurt am Main, 1910) and others.
