Deinard authored this account of the Ottoman Empire’s activities in the Land of Israel during World War I based on what he recorded in his memoirs. He first commenced writing during his stay in Alexandria, where he had gone after he was exiled from the Land of Israel by the Turks (p. [1]). At the end of the volume Deinard revealed Woodrow Wilson secret involvement in supporting the Zionist movement. |
