Description
Addressed to Anshei Marmarush in New York, the rabbi request that their assistance be sent to his brother in Sefad rather than himself. R. Moses David b. Israel Jacob Jakel Teitelbaum (1855-1935) was born in Gorlice. He was raised and educated by his grandfather, the Yeitiv Lev. He also studied with the R. Hayyim Halberstam the Divrei Hayyim. R. Teitelbaum was appointed rabbi of Targu Lapusului in 1882 or 1884 and served for over 50 years. An erudite scholar, pious Jew, orator, he founded and led a very successful Yeshiva in Targu Lapusului. He was the editor of the Yismah Moshe (homilies and Psalms) and added notes to both works.
