Description		    Sermons for the Sabbath and holidays, eulogies (for Turetzer and Herzl), halakhic novellae and responsa. R. Ezekiel b. Meir Aishiskin (1866-1935) was born in Jaszuny, near Vilna. He studied with R. Eliezer Turetzer of Jaszuny and, after his marriage, in Volozhin and Kovno. He was ordained by R. Naphtali Zevi Judah Berlin [Netziv] and R. Isaac Elhanan Spektor. He was appointed the rabbi of Jaszuny in 5654 [1894] and he remained there for four years. R. Ezekiel immigrated to New York in c. 1903 and was appointed rabbi of Nahal Yizhak. He moved to Detroit the following year and served as the rabbi of various synagogues, including B'nai David, Beth Moses, Nusach Hoari, and Tifereth Israel. (R. Aishiskin records [p. 8] that he was in Detroit by 5664 [1904]). R. Aishiskin was involved in educational endeavors and was active in the Mizrahi and Agudath Harabonim.

R. Aishiskin has a responsa on nullifying the marriage of an agunah (abandoned wife) because the witnesses for the wedding "desecrate the Sabbath in public as is common among Americans;" see pp. 68-9.
