Description		    An index to the responsa of the Geonim prepared by Dr. Joel ben Moses Leib ha-Kohen Mueller. The responsa of the geonim important not only in their own right but also as a source for the development of normative halakhah. Over the centuries, but particularly in the nineteenth century, collections of geonic responsa, assembled from manuscripts, more often than not previously unknown, were published. Dr. Mueller was among those who published such collections. A need existed, however, for a need for an index to these works and the geonic responsa. That need is addressed in Mafteah le-Teshuvot ha-Geonim. The book is divided into twenty-nine chapters, each with overviews of the authors and their responsa. There is a table of contents: among the chapters are how assembled; Halakhat Pesukot min ha-Geonim Constantinople edition; response from the Geonim, Mantua edition; Sha’arei Zedek; Sha’arei Teshuvah; responsa of the early Geonim; responsa of the Geonim, Lyck edition; ; responsa of the Geonim, Venice edition; responsa of the Geonim, Berlin edition; responsa of the Geonim, Lyck edition; responsa of the Geonim, Mizrah ve-Ma’arav; scattered responsa of the Geonim; responsa of R.
