Description		    Discourses on Sefer Bereishit by R. Menahem Mendel ben Moses Bendit Ehrlich. There are Hebrew and English title pages, the verso of the latter stating that it is Divrei Menahem, For the past tense, Present tense, and the Future. R. Ehrlic is described as Saldus Lettonie.The Hebrew title page describes R. Erhlich as having been rav and av bet din in Bistritcz and Kalimisak, Poland. There is an approbation from R. Menahem Mendel Zak of Riga, a prologue from R. Ehrlich. He writes that now, when times are difficult for Israel, we say, “peace for him who is far off and for him who is near” (Isaiah 57:19), and strectch out our hand to go in the way of the Torah and tradition. R. Ehrlich concludes that Divrei Menahem should be a consolation for my people and in it is my name and my people should a consolation for me. The text follows, in a single column in square letters. There are several discourses of varying length on each parasha. Among the examples of the numerous discourses from parshah Toldot, are the trials of Isaac, the approval of the Holy One of the deeds of Sarah, Sarah as an educator and prophetess, the Akedah, the sacrifices of kellal Israel, preparing for Shabbat, Shabbat morning, methods of parenting, and several others. R. Ehrlich perished in the Holocaust.
