Description		    Tri-lingual Hebrew-Polish-Russian account book for the Talmud Torah Sha’ar ha-Barzel for the period January 1, 1913 through January 1, 1914. The Hebrew text begins with a list of the officials involved with the direction of the Talmud Torah, lists the members and continues with a detailed listing of the financial records for the year. It lists all income, follwed by expenditures, and funds remaining at the end of the year. It concludes with a list of the haverim ofthe Talmud Torah. The second part, which reads from left to right, is the financial information in Polish and Cyrillic. It is unusual to find an extant statement of accounts with such detail from a Jewish educational institute from this period. It gives a rare insight into the organization and operating expenses of the Talmud Torah.
