Detailed
Description		    Friedrich Dittes (1829-1896), was born in Irfersgrün, Germany. A noted educator and father of Paul Dittes. From 1868-1881 he served as first director of the "Pädagogium", an institution created by the liberal municipal council of Vienna offering further training courses for teachers. He sought to create a school system that was largely independent of external ties (religion, bureaucracy, political parties). He strongly influenced many teachers in Vienna with his staunchly non-denominational beliefs.
