Detailed
Description
Joseph Koppel of Mattersdorf writes to Isaac Baron in Kesthely a followup to their chance meeting at the market in Vienna. Isaac had inquired of Joseph as to the rumors that the wife of the applicant for the rabbinical position in Kesthely, a Rabbi Wolf, is unfit for the position of town Rebbetzin. The rumor mill accused her of being a spendthrift, lousy home-maker, and other inappropriate behaviors. Joseph replies that the rumors are false, he knows the woman personally, she is very sociable and would make an excellent Rebbetzin for Kesthely.
