Dr. Samuel Krauss (1866-1948) wrote a history of Jews in medicine from the earliest Middle Ages until the era when Jews received equal rights.. The work was examined by Dr. Isidor Fischer of Wien. It includes an index and extensive notes. This volume is part of a series entitled: Veröffentlichungen der A.S. Bettelheim-stiftung in Wien, and it is vol. 4. of that series.
Dr. Krauss is also the author of numerous other works, including: Vier Jahrtausende jüdischen Palästinas, (Frankfurt am Main, 1922), Synagogale Altertümer (Berlin, 1922), Talmudische Archäologie (Leipzig, 1910-1912) and many others. He was a professor at the Jewish Teachers' Seminary, Budapest, 1894-1906, and at the Jewish Theological Seminary, Vienna from 1906to 1938. He came to England as a refugee and spent his last years at Cambridge.
