Description		    This volume is part of a series entitled Jüdische Volksbücherei, and it is labelled "Band 6". A study of the Jewish view of the Messiah by Dr. Tobias Lewenstein (1863-1953). The text is in German with frequent use of Hebrew words and phrases.

Dr. Lewenstein was born in Surinam. He studied at the Orthodox Rabbinical Seminary in Amsterdam and in Berlin and at Hilderscheimer's Rabbinical Seminary. He served as the Rabbi in Leeuwarden (Friesland), in Denmark and in Zurich. He is also the author of other books, including: Arukhat bat `ami : ein Weckruf im Exil : eine Predigt zu [parashat va-yehi t"r"n"a lf"k] (Berlin, 1891) and Prolegomena zu Moses ibn Esra's Buch der Tajnis (Halle, 1893).
