| A poster announcing a rally (sponsored by the youth movement called Gadna) in honor of the tenth anniversary of the founding of the State of Israel to be held at the Ramat Gan Stadium. The poster has a dark purple background with a stick-type figure of a scout playing the drums. The drawing is by Kor.
Gadna - Gedudei Noar -- Israeli youth corps now run by Ministry of Defense for pre-military training of teenagers. Existed since before the establishment of the state of Israel.
Paul Kor was born in Paris in 1926. During the Nazi occupation he was smuggled into Switzerland where he studied at the School of Art in Geneva and later on returned to Paris and graduated from "École des Beaux Arts". He came to Israel in 1948 and engaged for many years in graphic design of stamps, bills, and posters. Kor also planned the Israeli pavilion in Expo 65, which took place in Montreal. Won many prizes for posters designed by him and children books he wrote and animated. At the height of his career he abandoned graphics for the sake of painting and has since exhibited his works in prestigious galleries in Israel and abroad. He passed away in May, 2001.
