Description		    The ms. of the Levushei Serud prepared for press by the Author, first published in 1812. R. David Solomon b. Jerahmiel Eibeschuetz (c. 1755-1813) was born in Jezierzany (Ukraine). He was a devoted disciple of R. Michel Zloczow (c. 1731–1786), the Maggid Meisharim of Yampol and a student of the Besht. After R. Michel's passing, R. Eibeschuetz became a disciple of R. Meshullam Feibush Heller of Zbarazh (d. c. 1795). In addition to his erudite scholarship in all area of Torah, R. David Solomon was an eloquent preacher who attracted many followers to his sermons and teachings. He served in the rabbinical positions of Nadvornaya, Chorostkow, Budzanow, and Soroki in Moldavia. In 1809 R. Eibeschuetz made aliyah to Safat where he passed on and is interred in a cave with R. Arye Leib Segal, rabbi of Voluchisk.

R. David Solomon Eibeschuetz was a prolific writer. He is the author of: Arvei Nahchal (Sudilkov, c. 1825) kabbalistic commentary to the Pentateuch; Levushei Serud (Mogilev on the Dnestr, 1812) glosses to the Shulhan Arukh Yoreh De'ah; Eshet ha-Nehalim (Leghorn, 1821) glosses to the Magen Avraham and Turei Zahav on Orah Hayyim; Kad ha-Kemah (Przemysl, 1898) previously unpublished responsa; Ne'ot Desha (Lvov, 1861) resposa to all four parts of the Shulhan Arukh; Megillat Setarim (Lemberg, 1862) ethical commentary to the first chapter of Psalms; several works still in manuscript.
