Responsa by the Chief Rabbi of Constantinople. R. Jehiel b. Hayyim Bassan (c.1550-c.1625) was born in Rhodes and studied in his father's Yeshiva. His erudite scholarship came to light when he moved to Constantinople, where he eventually served as Chief Rabbi for 14 years. |
