Detailed
Description
Pamphlet in Yiddish on modesty of women, particularly in the field of attire and jewelry. The title page describes Takshiti Nashim as part of the larger work Mussar a”b for youngsters. It is the fourth part, specifically for young girls “Thus shall you say to the house of Jacob” (Exodus 19:3), on which Rashi comments “this refers to the women. Speak to them softly.” The text is made up of forty-nine numbered paragraphs, number forty-eight with ten numbered sub-paragraphs. Takshiti Nashim not only explains the laws and rules but cites specific examples, such as weddings and addresses raising children with consideration to this subject. Takshiti Nashim is not recorded in standard bibliographic works.
