R. Tzvi Hirsch Friedman (d.1969) was Hungarian by birth and before moving to the US in 1921, was rabbi of Hatszeg in Transylvania. A student of both the Minchat Eleazar of Munkacz and the Kedushat Yom Tov of Sighet, Friedman was an accomplished scholar and the author of numerous books, most of which dealt with controversial issues in a most idiosyncratic fashion.
