Detailed Description |
|
Homilies by R. Hezekiah b. Shabbetai (1862-1955) Chief Rabbi of Aleppo. R. Hezekiah was born in Salonica and moved to jerusalem in his childhood. An erudite scholar and gifted speaker he was an emissary to several countries on behalf of Jerusalem jewry. In 1900 he was appointed Chief Rabbi of Jaffa, followed by Tripoli (1904-1908), and finally Aleppo till 1924. |
