Description		    Only edition of these discourses on the Torah and other books of the Bible by R. Abraham Hai ben Mordecai Ben-Amozegh. The title page describes it as “giving goodly words” (Genesis 49:21), which the Lord, in Ben-Amozegh’s old age, has graced him after being confounded. It is a commentary on selected parts of the Bible and on the great Hallel, to be said each Shabbat. Ben-Amozegh writes that he did not compose Koneh Avraham for sages, for his own knowledge is limited, for what is “one born to a woman” (Shabbat 88a) such as he that he should write books. Nevertheless, he has made known, whether much or little, it should be sweet savor before the Lord. He should assist me to bring out my responsa and other works. The title page is dated “hat you are mindful of him תזכרנו (5683 = 1923)?” (Psalms 8:5). There are approbations from R. Isaac Moses ben Hayyim Nissan Abulafia; R. Jacob Meir; R. Nissan Danon; Rabbis of the yeshiva Keter Torah, namely R. Jacob Vacknan, R. Moses Meir Hai Eliakim, R. Joshua ha-Kohen, R. Shimshon Vaknin, and R. Isaac Kohen; and R. Abraham Isaac ha-Kohen Kook. There is an introduction from R. Ben-Amozegh and then the text , in a single column in rabbinic letters.
