Detailed
Description
In Latin, with extensive German text by Philipp Otto Gercken, (1646-1673). This text explores Judaism and its interactions with Christian people and discusses at length arguments for and against the tolerance of Germany's Jews. Gercken often argues in this work that while religious law is against granting rights to Jews, moral law supports granting equal rights to all of humanity. Includes a lengthy discussion in German regarding the Jewish Oaths used by the secular courts (p. 23-7).
