Description		    The poster is an exhortation by the leading Rabbis of Jerusalem not to study "outside wisdom". The ruling against studying extraneous material was first issued in 1856, repeated in 1862, issued for the third time in 1865 and for the fourth time in 1872. The current decree seeks to strengthen the earlier decrees. Excommunication is the punishment for those who violate this decree. The signatoreis are listed as follows: the names of four in bold letters (Moshe Yehoshua Leib [Diskin] ben Mordechai of Brisk, Yaakov Yehuda Levy, Yaakov ben Moshe, Mordechai ben Aryeh Leib, and 7 in a smaller font (including Hayyim Sonnenfeld).
