Detailed Description |
|
Full title: Die älteren jüdischen feste, mit einer kritik der gesetzgebung des Pentateuch dargestellt . A work on the Jewish festivals as well criticism of the legislation in the Pentateuch.
Johann Friedrich Leopold George, 1811-1873, was a lecturer at the University of Berlin. In this major work he strove to prove that "the laws of Deuteronomy are evidently older than almost all other Pentateuchal laws; and he lays down propositions that ever since have been seen more and more clearly to be the cornerstones of all criticism of Hebrew history." |
