Detailed Description |
|
Receipt for the monthly support received from Hasidim residing in Ramat Gan signed and dated by R. Simhah Bunim b. Abraham Mordecai Alter (1896–1992), succeeded his brother as Rebbe of Gur. He is often reffered to as the Lev Simhah after the title of his work. A noted scholar of great personal charm, he had an influence far beyond the immediate circle of his followers. As head of the various Gur institutions and yeshivot he did much to enhance the reputation and influence of Gur Hasidism. Thousands of visitors traveled to his court in Jerusalem each year to see him and receive his blessing.
