In 1864 he became the rabbi of Bikofsk, Oshpitzin (Polish: Oświęcim) in 1879, and Vishnitsa in 1880. He set up a large yeshiva in Vishnitsa, in 1881, and began to serve as a Admor there. The yeshiva, which attracted thousands of students was the first yeshiva to be established in Poland, it later became known as the Bobover Yeshiva. In 1892 he was appointed as the rabbi of Bobov. He passed on in the summer of 1905 (1 Tamuz 5765).
