   Volume 1. [1], 58, [6], 192, 192-232, 12 ff., folio, 350:214 mm., wide margins, usual light age and damp staining. A very good copy loose in contemporary leather boards, later spine, rubbed. Not in CD-EPI or Vinograd.
          
Paragraph 1    With [4] extra ms. pp. of liturgies for Kaiser Wilhelm II (pasted down on front fly, the victims of persecutions in Poland 1648-49 (on rear fly). Title verso has pencil notes by cantor as to tunes for selected liturgies.

Description
   Large prayer leader’s mahzor according to the Ashkenaz rite. This volume, part one of two, has a sumptuous title page comprised of detailed depictions of Moses on the left with the tablets of the law and Aaron on the right with his priestly garments and the ketoret. At the top are several vignettes depicting Jacob asleep, with angels ascending and descending the ladder to heaven; Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden; Noah and the ark; Tower of Babel; the destruction of Sodom. The text consists of liturgies for the Shabbat, festivals, and Roshei Hadashim, and, “and the small light to rule” daily, Purim, Tisha b’Av, kinnot, selihot, nissu’in, and milah. It informs that the text is accompanied by commentaries according to Pardes. The text begins with decorative letters. It is set in large type and accompanied on the sides by the commentary of R. Moses Shadil in rabbinic type on the sides. This volume includes daily and Shabbat services, and includes selihot, Hallel, yoztros, Purim, Pesah, Shavu’ot, kinnot for Tisha b’Av, nissu’in, and milah. The volume concludes with a listing of customs.
