This is an issue of a periodical dealing with antiquities in Palestine which appeared every two months from 1895 until 1912. The corporate author was the Deutscher Verein zur Erforschung Palastinas. In 1913 the journal became absorbed by Zeitschrift des Deutschen Palästina-Vereins.The editors varied: O. Seesemann, 1895-1896; H. Guthe, 1897-1906; G. Hölscher, 1907-1912.
Included on p. 31-32 is an accounting of expenditures for the year 1909. The cover is illustrated, and there is also an illustration with the word Muristan on the first page. Muristan is the Persian word for hospital and refers to a building in the Old City of Jerusalem. The hospital was built during the Crusader era and deserted in the 16th century. |
