Letter to R. Zaddok Krauss from R. Aryeh Leib ben Jehiel Rubinstein. The letter discusses conditions in Erez Israel since the passing of R. Joseph Hayyim Sonnenfeld and the introduction of secular studies into schools. Specifically the treasurer of the kollel is accused of sending his son to secular schools - a false charge contrived by competing kollel members.
R. Aryeh Leib ben Jehiel Rubinstein was born in Kadelborg, where his grandfather, R. David Rubinstein, a close associate of the Hatam Sofer, was rabbi. R. Rubinstein was a student of the Mahram Shick. He was the son-in-law of R. Jacob Leib Strasser, son-in-law of the Ktav Sofer. R. Rubinstein served, from 1907, as dayyan in Pressburg and as maggid shiur in the Yeshiva Ohavei Torah. He was the author of Kol Yehudah, novellae on the Torah.
