Description		    Popular ethical work on the principles of Judaism by R. Gedaliah ben Abraham Menahem Teikus. The title page describes the purpose of Emunat Yisrael, a small book of great value, as being intended to arouse the heart on faith, service (Avodah), and Torah. In it are explained the thirteen yesodei ha-da'at (principles of faith) of Israel. The text is in a single column in rabbinic type. This edition, in contrast to some others, is entirely in Hebrew, nor is this printing recorded in the Bet Eked Sefarim.

R. Gedaliah ben Abraham Menahem Teikus was an Ashkenaz ethicist. He translated the Torah and Megillot into Yiddish, printed as Ba'er ha-Torah (Amsterdam, 1758). In addition to Emunat Yisrael R. Gedaliah wrote Torat Katan (Amsterdam, 1764), an abbreviated listing of the Taryag mitzvoth and Kellalei ha-Dikduk (Amsterdam, 1765).
