Description		    Only edition of this multi-part journal in Hebrew with a French supplement under the direction of Grand Rabbi Hananiah Habib Azulai and edited by Joseph Cohen-Ganouna. The journal is accompanied by the kuntress Olam Katan. The verso of the title page lists the contents of the forthcoming issue, no. 2, but there is no indication that it was ever printed. Magen ha-Da’at begins with a pesak din on the issue of yibbum, and the seriousness of illicit relations explained in great detail (pp. 1-15) from R. Azulai. Next is an approbation from R. Moses Sitruk of Tunis (p. 16), an apologia (17-19), and then hashkufa kellit, a long discourse comprised of several ma’amarim on the Jews of Casablanca (19-59). Next is Olam Latan, with new foliation, a eulogy for R. Judah Katan. The Hebrew section concludes with an apologia from the printer, that the journal was printed in haste and there are, therefore, uncorrected errors. The French section has summaries of the Hebrew section.
