Detailed Description |
|
R. Abraham Isaac Bloch (1890-1941) Last Rosh Yeshiva of Telz in Lithuania. He was the son of R. Abraham Isaac whom he succeeded as Rosh Yeshiva. He was educated by his illustrious father and grandfather, R. Eliezer Gordon. At age 21 he was appointed as Rosh Yeshiva where R. Bloch developed the "individual educational method" wherein each student was encouraged to raise to his own level of ability. An erudite scholar he was widely loved and respected. He was brutally murdered with his family and the students of the Yeshiva by the accursed Nazis on 20 Tamuz. |
