This item is comprised of two letters, each in Hebrew, Yiddish and English addressed to "our brethren in the diaspora". One is from R. Abraham Isaac HaKohen Kook, the Chief Rabbi of Erez Israel, and the other from R. Yosef Hayyim Sonnenfeld, the chief Rabbi of the Ashkenazi community. These letters are printed together for distribution to Jews in the diaspora. |

Each of the letters decries the fact that "there are various people endeavouring to boycot [sic] the Meshulochim from the holy institutions in Erez Israel and the charity-boxes ..." therefore R. Kook prohibits "to cause any loss or damage to holy charity-work...to interfere in any manner whatsoever with exisiting arrangements..."and also states that it is prohibited to change charity funds from one purpose to another ..." R. Sonnenfeld's letter repeats exactly the same statementss, |
