A political poster put out by Mercaz Bet Midrash Shaare Teshuva, which was founded by R. Emanuel ben Nissan. The poster consists of a few parts. The column on the right contains "visions" of R. Ben Nissan. The first concerns Dr. Chaim Weizman and the others the Prime Minister, David Ben Gurion. All have the same theme -- that Torah should be strengthened in Israel . The column on the left contains the facsimile of a statement signed by members of the General Zionist party wherein they promise to use their efforts to promote Sabbath observance, Kashrut, and religious tradition. This is followed by parts of letters from R. Ben Nissan and R. Avraham Yitzhak Dov to various groups. For example, in a letter to those religously faithful of the Labor party, they are encouraged to vote for the good of the religion and the tradition - Sabbath, Kashrut, modesty, laws of Israel, etc. |
