| The book is divided into 8 sections. The first is an introduction to the Jewish National Fund, and includes an article on the program, history and achievement of the JNF. The next section is entitled The Project and refers to the founding of a settlement in Erez Israel called Nachalath Texas which was supported by contributions from the Jews of Texas, There is also an article in this section in honor of Leon Blum, as efforts had been made to financially support a colony in Erez Israel named in his honor. The third section is entitled Pioneering and contains articles both on the pioneers of Texas and of Erez Israel.The next section is called Zionism in Texas, and gives an historical overview of that subject.
This is followed by a section entitled City Contribution which includes a multi-page table showing how much money was contributed to the JNF from the various southwestern cities, as well as articles about the Jewish communities in those cities. The final sections are on Hadassah( with information about Hadassah chapters in some southern communities) , Individual Contribution (with boigraphical essays and sketches on some prominent Zionist community leaders) and Greetings( which contains advertisements). |
