Detailed
Description
Celebratory Hebrew- Italian verse on the Levi-Romanelli wedding by David Attilo Gallico. The front page is simple stating that it is the nozze (wedding) of Levi-Romanelli the names within a border with a fanned design in the upper left hand corer. Below is Gasllico’s name and dedica. The text is on two facing pages, the left in Italian the right in Hebrew. The groom is Rabbi Professor Isaia Levi. Both sides are headed by the verse “You love righteousness, and hate wickedness; therefore God, your God, has anointed you with the oil of gladness above your companions” (Psalms 45:8). The Hebrew verse is comprised of eighteen lines beginning Mizmor le-David in honor of his rabbi (rabo) and chief, the crown of his head, the glorious sage. In Italian, Ah! Signore e memore di noi: benidira si la coppia felice, il cui amore non si distruggera mai.
