Ezra Tawil’s son, who brought the book to press. Et Sofer is comprised of twenty-two responsa on a variety of subjects and discourses on Rosh Ha-Shanah, Shabbat Zikhor, Shabbat ha-Gadol, Shabbat Calah, Parashat ve-Yetzei, Shemot, ve-Areh, Talmud Torah, Mussar, Tefillin, and parashat Bereshit. R. Ezra Tawil (1830-90) was a respected scholar and av bet din in Aram Soba. He studied Kabbbalah with R. Samuel Morsaya and R. Solomon Safdeye.
