Description
   Bi-lingual Yiddish-English constitution of the Hevra Gemilut Hasidim Bnei R. Leib Ber Anshei Piesk. The text begins with the names of the organizewrs, Morris Bayarsky, Abrham Gerodnik, Morris E. Levine, Hyman Borowsky, Wolf Potoshinsky, Phil Bayarsky, and Joseph Paretszky. Next are the names of the constitution committee, beginning with Hyman Novack, ex-president, and then the agenda. It begins with 1. Opening of the meeting by the president; 2. reading of the minutes; 3. Comitte report on proposed candidates; 4. proposals of new candidates; 5. induction of candidates; 6; hospitalers report; 7.correspondence; 8. committee reports; 9, old business; 10. good and welfare; 11. report on income and expenses; and 12. adjournment. The provisions of the first article state the name of the organization, that it cannot be changed, and that in case of a merger this name must remain with the name of the new organization added. Among the duties of the officers the president is given the authority to spend $10 of the organizations money between meetings without the consent of the membership. If the president or any other officer misses three meeting in succession he shall lose his position unless he submits an adequate reason for his absence. Article 16 states tha tin the case of the death of a member’s wife and he remarries the second wife can be enrolled in the chevra for $200 for a grave and the initiation fee is up to the Chevra. A widow of a member who remarries has the full right of a member. Dues for minor children of the wife in the previous clause are discussed but, in the following clause it is stated that children from the second marriage are not entitled to any benefits from the Chevra.
